Pilar was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in March. The oncology team at the Los Angeles Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Pilar is 41, worked as a construction supervisor until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Los Angeles Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $9,200 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $2,500 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,250 • Scans and lab work: $720 • Transport to the Los Angeles Oncology Institute: $730 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Mateo
