Miguel was diagnosed with colon cancer in August. The oncology team at Medellín University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Miguel is 42, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Medellín University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $2,850 goes: • Scans and lab work: $180 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,950 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $230 • Household costs while unable to work: $490 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
