Marta was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at San Antonio University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Marta is 54, worked as a nurse until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Antonio University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $9,150 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,050
• Scans and lab work: $1,700
• Transport to San Antonio University Hospital: $710
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $760
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,930

Sure. The biggest one is chemotherapy and medication not covered, $4,050. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
