Leah was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in July. The oncology team at Bowling Green Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Leah is 28, worked as a taxi driver until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Bowling Green Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $8,200 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,000
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $700
• Scans and lab work: $1,500
