Lars was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at the Amsterdam Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Lars is 44, worked as a bus conductor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Amsterdam Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $7,250 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,000 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $870 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,380 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Wilma
