Kennedy was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in April. The oncology team at Birmingham Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Kennedy is 49, worked as a bakery worker until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Birmingham Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $5,700 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,650 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $620 • Transport to Birmingham Cancer Centre: $430 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
