Emma is facing a rare sarcoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Emma was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in May. The oncology team at the Düsseldorf Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Emma is 58, worked as a nurse until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Düsseldorf Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $10,600 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,300
• Transport to the Düsseldorf Oncology Institute: $800
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $490
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,760
