Élodie was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in August. The oncology team at Surrey University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Élodie is 41, worked as a construction supervisor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Surrey University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,700 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,500
• Transport to Surrey University Hospital: $820
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $380
