Diệp was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in January. The oncology team at Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in March. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Diệp is 55, worked as a tailor until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $650 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $210
• Transport to Hồ Chí Minh City University Hospital: $135
• Scans and lab work: $305
