Ghada was diagnosed with stomach cancer in May. The oncology team at Cairo Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Ghada is 45, worked as a taxi driver until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Cairo Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,550 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $310 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $115 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,125 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
