Get Everly back on the road: my ride-share car repair fund
Everly drives for a living in Grand Rapids, and a broken gearbox has stopped all income for 3 weeks.

I make my living with my ride-share car. 3 weeks ago the gearbox failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $600. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $600 goes:
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $185
• Labor charges: $290
• Towing and inspection: $125

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Everly!
Road tax and insurance renewal is $185 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for looking so closely.
Sending strength. Hope the shop reopens soon. Take care.
I hope things turn around soon. Please keep us posted. Greetings from Liverpool.

You're not alone, Everly. Hope the shop reopens soon. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Yokohama.
