Flood in Udaipur: help the Old Town neighborhood rebuild
After the flood, families in the Old Town neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇮🇳 India1,014 views
The flood hit the Old Town neighborhood on 7 December. My home was one of 14 damaged, and 3 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $480
• Clean water and purification supplies: $165
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $175
• Food parcels for displaced families: $135
• Tools and labor for repairs: $295
Thanks for reading all this.

Best of luck, Rajesh. More neighborhoods should do this.
Great idea, hope you get there. I'll check back for the next update. Greetings from Dublin.
Stay strong, Rajesh. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Wishing you the best, Rajesh. Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of Udaipur.
