Mongkol was diagnosed with stomach cancer in May. The oncology team at Bangkok Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Mongkol is 49, worked as a bank teller until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Bangkok Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,850 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,650 • Scans and lab work: $350 • Transport to Bangkok Cancer Centre: $230 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $85 • Household costs while unable to work: $535 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
