Dương was diagnosed with stomach cancer in June. The oncology team at Hồ Chí Minh City Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Dương is 43, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Hồ Chí Minh City Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $550 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $130
• Household costs while unable to work: $300
• Transport to Hồ Chí Minh City Cancer Centre: $120
