Stella was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in October. The oncology team at Chicago Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in January. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Stella is 28, worked as a primary school teacher until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Chicago Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $10,150 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $1,050 • Scans and lab work: $890 • Transport to Chicago Regional Medical Center: $460 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,750 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Crystal

    • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Stella

      • Sure. The biggest one is household costs while unable to work, $1,050. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for looking so closely.
