London
Nicholas was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in October. The oncology team at London Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Nicholas is 53, worked as a hairdresser until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to London Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $4,900 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $740 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,350 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $810 I hope life is good to you. - James
