Fighting stage 3 ovarian cancer: help Mohit afford treatment in Birmingham

Supporting Mohit through stage 3 ovarian cancer: medication, transport to Birmingham University Hospital, and living costs while He can't work.

🇬🇧 Birmingham, England, United Kingdom7,831 views
Mohit was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in July. The oncology team at Birmingham University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Mohit is 47, worked as a tailor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Birmingham University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $7,550 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,000 • Scans and lab work: $900 • Transport to Birmingham University Hospital: $570 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $400 • Household costs while unable to work: $680 I hope life is good to you. - Pradeep

Updates from Pradeep

  1. Thank you all. We're at 84% now ($6,318). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.

  2. Small update. $5,357 so far, I met with the treatment center and confirmed the amounts.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($1,638 in total) I made the first payment toward chemotherapy and medication not covered. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($5,000) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
