Boulogne-Billancourt
Lubna was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in June. The oncology team at Boulogne-Billancourt University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Lubna is 48, worked as a hairdresser until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Boulogne-Billancourt University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $8,450 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $230 • Transport to Boulogne-Billancourt University Hospital: $460 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,250 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,510 With deep gratitude, Salim

Updates from Salim

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($1,553 in total) I made the first payment toward household costs while unable to work. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from San Antonio.

    • what's already covered and what's the $8,450 for?

      • Sure. The biggest one is nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team, $230. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Happy to explain more.

    • Thanks for sharing this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
