Ankara
Oğuz was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at Ankara University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Oğuz is 57, worked as a tailor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Ankara University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,850 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $120 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,250 • Scans and lab work: $200 • Transport to Ankara University Hospital: $280 Glad we found this place.

Stay strong, Yasemin. Get well soon. After 14 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless

    • Sending love, Yasemin. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.

You're not alone, Yasemin. Hope the doctors have good news. We're a small family in Vancouver but we're thinking of you
