Luiz was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in September. The oncology team at the Belém Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Luiz is 47, worked as a tailor until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Belém Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
