Fighting non-Hodgkin lymphoma: help Collins afford treatment in Nairobi
Collins is facing non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇰🇪 Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya343 views
Collins was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in June. The oncology team at Nairobi University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Collins is 44, worked as a nurse until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Nairobi University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $970
• Scans and lab work: $200
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $135
• Transport to Nairobi University Hospital: $145
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
