Fighting kidney cancer: help Lorena afford treatment in Petrópolis
Lorena is facing kidney cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Lorena was diagnosed with kidney cancer in February. The oncology team at the Petrópolis Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Lorena is 31, worked as a bakery worker until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Petrópolis Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $3,150 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,000
• Scans and lab work: $380
• Transport to the Petrópolis Oncology Institute: $270
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $220
• Household costs while unable to work: $280
