Feed 93 families each week at Open Hands Pantry in Madina
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Madina is running low just as demand rises; $400 will stock it for 12 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Wednesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 93 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 38% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Madina market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $120
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $180
• Baby formula and diapers: $75
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

take care. More neighborhoods should do this. After 20 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
