Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Thursday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 346 each week. Donations have dropped by about 33% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Austin market and keep every receipt. Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $2,100 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,050 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $700 • Baby formula and diapers: $350 Thank you for reading my story.

  • Hang in there, Silas. Hope you get there. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Mombasa.

    • Gave what I could, wish it was more. My neighbor in Zapopan donated after I showed her your page. Love from Zapopan

      • Wishing you peace, Silas. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Austin

        • Rooting for you, Silas. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

          • Keep going, Silas. I hope things turn around soon. We're a small family in Parma but we're thinking of you. God bless.
