Ikeja
Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Tuesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 332 each week. Donations have dropped by about 33% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Ikeja market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $550 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $25 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $330 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $195 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Updates from Uche

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 42% funded and the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled.

  2. 5% there. I made the first payment toward fresh vegetables and fruit. Thank you. - Uche

  3. Quick update: $20 raised so far (4%). I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

Good luck. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 26 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best

          • I hope things turn around soon. Sent it to 23 people at work. Greetings from Jaipur
