Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Saturday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 23 families, and now we feed 300 each week. Donations have dropped by about 35% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lagos market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $250 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $20 • Baby formula and diapers: $70 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $160 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

  • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sani.

    • Refrigeration and electricity is $20 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Ask me anything else.

  • Thinking of you and your family, Sani. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Lagos.

    • Take care, Sani. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Take care.
