Feed 232 families each week at Community Pantry in Columbia
The Community Pantry pantry in Columbia is running low just as demand rises; $2,450 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Thursday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 232 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 40% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Columbia market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,450
• Baby formula and diapers: $650
• Refrigeration and electricity: $350
