Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Sunday from the back of a community center. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 187 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 37% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Thessaloniki market and keep every receipt.
Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $280
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $560
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $610

How is Vasileios doing now?
So sorry you're going through this. Looking forward to the next update. I'll check back for the next update. Greetings from Toulon.
sending love, Vasileios. More neighborhoods should do this. God bless
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Vasileios.
Baby formula and diapers is $280 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks, that means a lot.
Thinking of you. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. All the best.
Praying for you. I hope things turn around soon. Put this on a community board in Üsküdar this morning. Greetings from Üsküdar
