Feed 106 families each week at Open Hands Pantry in Latina
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Latina is running low just as demand rises; $1,950 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Saturday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 106 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 52% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Latina market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,150
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $390
• Baby formula and diapers: $185
• Refrigeration and electricity: $225
With deep gratitude,
Mattia
