Quinn, my mother, passed away on 21 June after a stroke. She was 71 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $5,700 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 5 July.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Quinn to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program.
Where the $5,700 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $3,000
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,900
• Transport of the deceased: $430
• Memorial gathering for the family: $370
