Hadley, my wife, passed away on 11 May after a stroke. She was 81 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $4,250 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 26 May.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Hadley to have a dignified farewell.

The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt.

• Funeral home services and casket: $2,250
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,350
• Transport of the deceased: $250
