Femi, my uncle, passed away on 7 October after a sudden heart attack. He was 38 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $500 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 17 October.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Femi to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Badagry hospice.
Where the $500 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $220
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $160
• Transport of the deceased: $40
• Memorial gathering for the family: $80
