Fatima, my mother, passed away on 9 July after a long fight with kidney disease. She was 41 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $1,250 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 24 July. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Fatima to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Pretoria hospice. Where the $1,250 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $530 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $470 • Transport of the deceased: $145 • Memorial gathering for the family: $105 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
