Emergency vet bill for Poppy in San Antonio
A rabbit named Poppy needs a hospital stay and surgery - a $2,000 bill the family can't cover.
🇺🇸 United States4,714 views
Poppy is my rabbit of thirteen years. On 22 August we rushed to San Antonio Veterinary Centre with a ruptured cruciate ligament. The vet recommends a hospital stay and surgery, and the estimate came to $2,000.
They have stabilized Poppy, but the treatment can't wait beyond November.
Poppy is more than a pet - Poppy got me through my hardest year. I have already put $250 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
If more is raised than needed, the surplus goes to San Antonio Veterinary Centre's charity fund for other animals.
Where the $2,000 goes:
• Hospitalization (3 nights): $640
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $155
• Emergency surgery: $1,205
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Sending good thoughts, James. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Kyoto donated after I showed her your page. Love from Kyoto.
good luck, James. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Thinking of San Antonio.
Rooting for you, James. Hope the recovery goes smoothly. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like!
Thinking of you, James. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. God bless.
Wishing you the best, James. Hope you get there
sending strength. Your post was clear and honest. After 25 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of San Antonio.
