Emergency hernia repair for Marcos: covering what insurance won't
Marcos needs emergency hernia repair at Alcalá de Henares Community Hospital and the family is $1,350 short of the hospital's estimate.

Marcos was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in June. The surgeon at Alcalá de Henares Community Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,800, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,350 short.
my son has been in and out of Alcalá de Henares Community Hospital since June. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,800 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Marcos struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Marcos won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Travel and lodging for the family: $230
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $870
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $250
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

wishing Marcos a smooth procedure and a full recovery. God bless.
praying for you, Aarón. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Blessings.
Stay strong. Get well soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best.
Take care. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Jimma

Stay strong, Aarón. This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Alcalá de Henares.
