Electricity and water shut-off notice: help Lourdes pay $600

Lourdes is behind on electricity and water bills after losing my job in July and needs $600 to avoid a shut-off.

The electricity and water account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless I pay $600. I have never been late before losing my job in July. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $105 first, which I don't have. I live with a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the cold months without electricity and water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Lourdes's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $600 goes: • Heating arrears: $320 • Reconnection and late fees: $120 • Down payment on a payment plan: $160 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Lourdes
