The electricity and water account is 3 months behind. Manoel received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on January unless $250 is paid. He had never been late before October's medical emergency. Manoel called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $25 first, which isn't available. The household includes a newborn, and going through the cold months without electricity and water isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. Manoel is working on getting back on his feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $250 goes: • Gas arrears: $145 • Reconnection and late fees: $45 • Down payment on a payment plan: $60 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
