Denise was diagnosed with stomach cancer in June. The oncology team at Spokane Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Denise is 26, worked as a farmer until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Spokane Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $7,350 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $1,850 • Transport to Spokane Regional Medical Center: $860 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,750 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $890 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Maverick

  • Hope it all works out. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best

    • Rooting for you. Wishing Denise a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best

this could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Dhaka donated after I showed her your page. Take care!
