Clean water and shade for Ogbomosho: restoring the Baobab canal
Help us clean and replant the Baobab canal before the November planting window closes.
🇳🇬 Nigeria876 views
The Baobab canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This September, 44 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 192 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $350 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $190
• Tools and protective gear: $85
• Waste removal and skip hire: $65
• Signage and educational materials: $10
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Good luck. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Üsküdar.
thinking of you and your family, Isaac. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings.
Praying for you. Shared this with my family. Sent it to 24 people at work. Blessings
Shared this with my family. Thinking of Ogbomosho.
