Clean water and shade for Curitiba: restoring the Unity wetland
Help us clean and replant the Unity wetland before the December planting window closes.
🇧🇷 Brazil676 views
The Unity wetland has been used as an informal dump for years. This October, 111 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 107 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $650 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $280
• Tools and protective gear: $135
• Waste removal and skip hire: $175
• Signage and educational materials: $60
If you're reading this, thank you.

So sorry you're going through this, Cláudia. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Cláudia
Native saplings and stakes is $280 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. It helps to be asked.
Sending strength. Looking forward to the next update. Sent it to 22 people at work.
Any update on how things are going in Curitiba?
Sending strength. I hope things turn around soon. Take care.
Wishing you peace, Cláudia. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Nairobi.
keep going, Cláudia. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
Sending strength, Cláudia. More neighborhoods should do this.
