Clean air and water for Kadıköy: restoring the Cedar hillside
A neighborhood-led restoration of the Cedar hillside needs $300 for saplings and equipment.
Anywhere in the world723 views
The Cedar hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 101 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 149 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $300 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $75
• Waste removal and skip hire: $195
• Signage and educational materials: $30
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

wishing you peace, Cengiz. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Keep going. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Thinking of Kadıköy
hang in there, Cengiz. Hope this works out for you. Sent it to 27 people at work. God bless
