Acacia Park needs a skate park - Okan's neighborhood project
A community-led a skate park at Acacia Park that will serve 83 neighbors.
🇩🇪 Germany1,718 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 83 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $900 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $280
• Permits and inspections: $370
• Safety equipment and signage: $250
Thank you for reading my story.
