A youth football pitch for the Lotus community hall: help our neighbors in Philadelphia
A community-led a youth football pitch at the Lotus community hall that will serve 427 neighbors.
🇺🇸 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States2,023 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,850.
It will serve about 427 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,850 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $230
• Permits and inspections: $180
• Materials: $3,440
Every share and every dollar helps.

Hope it all works out, Scarlett. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Love from Southampton.
Hope it all works out, Scarlett. Hope this works out for you.
Wishing you peace, Scarlett. Hope you get there. Put this on a community board in Mississauga this morning. Blessings.
Hope it all works out, Scarlett. More neighborhoods should do this. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Philadelphia.
You're not alone, Scarlett. More neighborhoods should do this
It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 20 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
