A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Wiesbaden
Volunteers in Wiesbaden are raising $400 for a youth football pitch at the Sycamore community hall.
🇩🇪 Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany319 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 440 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $165
• Safety equipment and signage: $90
• Tools hire and delivery: $145
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

it takes guts to ask. Well done. Put this on a community board in Cầu Giấy this morning. Greetings from Cầu Giấy!
take care, Karl. Shared it with a few friends. It's not much but it's yours. Love from Dhaka!
