A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Kolkata

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $100 for materials.

Kolkata
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $75, and the remaining cost is $100. It will serve about 553 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $100 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $70 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Tools hire and delivery: $5 Thank you for reading my story. - Rajeshwari
