A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Kinondoni
Volunteers in Kinondoni are raising $250 for a youth football pitch at the Liberty health centre yard.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $250.
It will serve about 211 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $250 goes:
• Materials: $170
• Permits and inspections: $15
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $35
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

sending strength. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'm in construction myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Oakland
You're not alone, Bakari. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Metz.
