We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $2,850 for materials.

San Diego
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Park, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,850. It will serve about 437 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,850 goes: • Materials: $2,050 • Permits and inspections: $195 • Safety equipment and signage: $390 • Tools hire and delivery: $215 Thanks for being kind about this.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Niterói this morning. God bless.
