For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $100. It will serve about 548 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $100 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Permits and inspections: $30 Thanks for reading all this.

More neighborhoods should do this. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings.
