Madina
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity community hall, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 496 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $390 • Permits and inspections: $60 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $55 If you're reading this, thank you. - Felicia

Updates from Felicia

  1. Thank you all. We're at 71% now ($391). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward tools hire and delivery.

  2. Update from Madina: the first invoice got paid this week. We're at 53% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($131 in total) I made the first payment toward materials. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Felicia.

    • Felicia AdjeiOwnerAnswer

Sure. The biggest one is materials, $390. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Let me know if you want more detail.
