A skate park for the old Harmony bus depot: help our neighbors in Soweto

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Harmony bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,000. It will serve about 188 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,000 goes: • Materials: $830 • Permits and inspections: $95 • Safety equipment and signage: $75 If you're reading this, thank you.
